I have always run the car on Valvoline VR1 20/50 racing engine oil





2 years ago the car was sent to Saxon motorsport in Hereford(A lot of experience running Formula Fords and endurance racing cars) for a general tune and check-up where they were very pleased with the results. The fuelling was perfect and only a few small changes to the ignition timing were made. The car made 140bhp but we pulled a couple of degrees of timing for reliability reasons and ended up with a very linear 136bhp. I have the printout to prove this. The mapper also told me there is plenty of power left in the engine if we changed the cam timing and therefore fuelling but as the engine ran so well we decide if it isn't broke we won’t fix it.
