Croft Circuit Meets Tour de 4
Croft Circuit is no stranger to turbo speeds and high-performance machinery, with its mix of technical corners and rapid straights, the circuit offers a challenging playground for drivers. However, this particular track-day took on a different purpose - rather than speed and competition, there was a feeling of hope, solidarity and communal purpose.
The event was organised under the banner of a 'Tour de 4' track-day, and the idea was simple yet powerful: invite a limited number of participants to bring their own vehicle and take to the track, alongside special guest drivers and appearances by Chris Hoy.
The Purpose Behind the Wheel
After publicly disclosing his diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer, 7 time medallist Sir Chris Hoy launched a campaign to shift perceptions. He wanted to rewrite the narrative that, although devastating, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis does not mean the absence of purpose or ambition.
Tour de 4 is a cycling-based scheme which offers multiple different routes for exercise, including static-bike participation for those who cannot ride on the road, making it inclusive for people at all stages of health.
Why It Matters
The track day at Croft Circuit served as a fundraiser and awareness event: by combining motorsport with a greater cause, it was able to draw enthusiasts, raise funds, foster dialogue and highlight stories which might otherwise go unheard.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved the charity was able to raise an outstanding £60,000 towards five cancer charities. Despite the downpour of the storm, it couldn't dampen the mood nor can it dampen anyone's recollection of the weekend. It was incredible to see such a high energy, generous community come together to celebrate a passion, all for such an important cause.
We will have a short video from the event posted to YouTube on Wednesday, 8th October 2025. Furthermore, if you would like to donate to the Tour de 4 charity for stage 4 cancer, please copy and paste this link to donate: Tour de 4
